10 of the Quirkiest Vehicles on the Road

Not everyone is content with blending in. Some style their hair into a Mohawk, others adorn themselves with elaborate tattoos, and even more dress in all sorts of wacky clothing that most of us would consider wearing only on Halloween, all in an effort to be unique. And some people's desire to be distinctive doesn't stop there. While a nondescript sedan or sport-utility vehicle does the trick for many, there's a small cadre of Americans that isn't content with a car that looks like a car. They follow another path in terms of the rides they drive. The following (all functional — but not necessarily street legal — and insured by Hagerty Insurance, which specializes in collector cars) are among the quirkiest machines around today.

History of iPod

iPod, a brand name of media player contributed by the Apple Group, has been recognized as a widely sought-after digital device worldwide for many years. The classic outlook and amazing features have made the gadget a landmark in the history of portable music players. Many young people are passionate about iPod and take it as a fashion symbol. Nowadays, an iPod no longer costs as much as before, and wholesale iPod models has turned out a more and more profitable business.

The first model in the iPod series was launched on October 23, 2001. Up to now, iPod has come in a variety of types including Shuffle, Nano, Classic and Touch, each of which has its special features. For example, iPod Touch enables a touch screen feature and iPod Nano supports videos. Popularly-known features of major models of iPod include the sleek body, portability, the simple interface and the scroll wheel. Among all, models in the iPod family are especially well-known for their user-friendly interface. Even young children and old people can easily learn how to operate any iPod model. The simple interface and the scroll wheel have made it easy for iPod users to enter into the iPod navigation system and to become familiar with major functions of the music player in a short time.

Unlike ordinary music players like Walkman, a model from the iPod family needs no cassettes or cds. The older iPod models resort to a built-in hard drive to store media while the the newer models apply flash memory for the storage like iPod Touch, Nano and Shuffle.

At the outset, an iPod model cost as much as $400, which drove away a significant range of potential users. Gradually, to meet the growing requirements for affordable and rich-feature handy music players, Apple developed a number of new iPod models. These models, of course, update with new designs and more interesting functions like PC support and color display, which are not only popular among ordinary customers but affordable to this group of people. The improvements quickly made iPod a super star in the music players market. Currently items belonging to the iPod family have remained a bestseller among all same category items in many countries.

The advertising of iPod is believed to have made a big contribution to the popularity of iPod. Over the years, we saw some interesting ads about iPod coming out one after another. Almost every iPod ad is featured by the coolest tunes playing in the background, which is not only amazing but also unbelievably creative.

2 years ago, Apple released the multi-feature smartphone iPhone in the U.S.. This landmark cell phone is in fact a combination of two devices: a cellular phone and an iPod. Soon the first iPod model with touch screen, the iPod touch, came into existence, designed with the multi-touch graphical touch screen function of iPhone. Furthermore, the iPod touch is also the first iPod model enabling Internet access via the Wi-Fi capacities. From this tendency, we can see that Apple is trying to turn the iPod from simply a portable media player into a PC-based multi-media player which supports music files, Internet capacities.
